EXCELLENT Based on 108 reviews Zaheer Sarang2026-01-01Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Quite honestly one of the coziest and most tranquil places I have been to. From the friendly animals and the loveliest dog, Reacher, to the lush gardens and private forest walk and the mornings in peaceful bliss. I cannot recommend this place enough. I plan to be a repeat visitor here as leaving proves to be harder than you think. Julie and her team have done a wonderful job of making these rooms little homes away from home. We stayed there for 2 nights, since then 4 other B&b/hotels right up to Umhlanga, and as far as attention to detail and overall experience goes none of them compare. The walk in the forest, the decor on the rooms, personal touch in the room. Jules, Dirk and team you rock, keep it up. 10/10 Roenell Pretorius2025-12-30Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This place I would really recommend any one who loves nature, a break away from town with all the facilities you need to enjoy and relax Janina N2025-03-13Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My Family and I stayed within this very Beautiful and hidden gem over a couple of days. It’s a bit far of, within the mountains, therefore the perfect stay for someone looking for a calm & nature based accommodation. You can already feel the magic after opening the gate and will also see it thought and through within the apartment. From a greeting card, over chocolate to kids games. The hosts thought of everything. Highly recommended it! Maleene Hinrichsen2025-01-28Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We headed to Knysna for a last minute trip and was lucky enough to stay here, it was only for one night but what an amazing hidden gem. We stayed at The Nest, perfect for a couple for a few days. Upon arrival we immediately felt so relaxed and comfortable. The garden and small pond in front of the cottage added tranquility and calmness. We absolutely loved our stay. Not to mention the cute kitten and Reacher that welcomed us to our cottage. The space is small but so impactful, we loved the loft aspect. I made some coffee and enjoyed it by the little pond along side Reacher. It was a moment where the world went quite. The post is nicely located in between Knysna and Wilderness, so it's easy to drive to a nice spot for dinner or a swim at the beach. Later the evening we enjoyed some complimentary Old Brown Sherry. The beautiful art on the wall just adds such a lovely personal touch. I'm assuming it's artwork made by the owners kids. We absolutely loved our stay and would definitely come back whenever we find ourselves in Knysna again. Thank you so much for having us.
Woodlands began as a small farm school and later a rather stark boot camp before we lovingly transformed it into the haven it is today. Since opening in 2014, we’ve designed every detail ourselves - from the suites and furnishings to the lush rock gardens - creating a space where guests feel at home. Our latest addition, The Nest, is a cosy tiny house perfect for a romantic retreat. Take a look at our Before and After pictures to see the transformation and the love poured into every corner.
